A Message from Our President- Dolores Fobare

We started band camp the last week in July and football season hopefully will go through November, so we are more than halfway through fall marching season already. Time sure goes fast! The marching students are now seeing their hard work rewarded.
In times past, I have gone to competitions with the band and you can tell everyone feels uncertain about the show and just hopes they place in one class. But when the real performance counts, all the students put out their best and we place very good in many classes. We have an excellent group of musicians, colorguard members, and directors, so I expect we will see the same pulling together and amazing performances that we have had in the past.
Events that we have witnessed over the last few weeks quickly bring us back to the reality that we need to enjoy and appreciate every day. Therefore, I would like to thank all parents who have taken time out of their busy schedules to attend band parent meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month and who have helped with concessions, uniforms, chaperoning, pit and other band needs so far. What better way to show our students we support them, then to show an interest in what they do and come out and cheer them on.
The Blue Devil Classic will be coming up on Saturday, October 20. To pull off a successful event we need the help of every band parent. You have been contacted by the staffing committee. Thank you for being generous with your time...it may be work, but it is a lot of fun!
